It helps the special educators to be more attuned to the weakness and fortes of the students, and thus, enables us to stand in a better position to help them reach their learning goals. Low student – teacher ratio allows the teachers to know better when children understand the material and when they are finding it difficult. The student teacher ration at our school are as follows: For hearing impaired children :- 10:1 For Autism / Intellectual Disabilities:- 5:1
The methodology of the teaching &training program includes lecture, demonstration, project work, discussion, exposure visits and participation in direct activities.
We design individualized education plan and develop curriculum to meet the individual needs of the special children. In addition to the curriculum as laid down by Jharkhand state education board and The National Open School (NOS). Our special educators undertake activities to strengthen the language both receptive and expressive.
We have specially designed classrooms for children with special needs. In which various measures have been taken keeping in view the facilities of thec children , such as the facility of group amplification devices (i.e. Hard Wire System, Loop Induction System) in the classrooms of the hearing impaired children, smart class room facility for them etc. accessible seating and activities place in the classroom for children with Autism and ID. There is ample availability of teaching learning materials related to the training of children in the classrooms.
Generally , we do the seating arrangement of the children in the class room in C-Shape, L-Shape, U- Shape and V- Shape so that the teacher can pay special attention to all the children and the children get convenience in learning.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic aspects of children with special needs are undertaken. We provide Occupational therapy, Speech therapy, Physio therapy, Speech & Auditory training, Special Education etc at our center.
Apart from the normal curriculum, we provide special Olympic training, Paralympic training, gardening, music, employment oriented vocational training for the all round development of the children.
